Milies is a mountain village in southern Pelion, built at an altitude of 400 m and 28 km east of Volos. It is the seat of the Municipality of Milea.

Characteristic of the settlement is the authentic Pelion architecture with tower houses and mansions, many of which have now been turned into hostels, offering a special accommodation experience. The main square is the meeting point for locals and visitors, with large plane trees giving shade to those who choose to drink their coffee or dine in its traditional tavern-cafes. Around the perimeter there are many great buildings, such as the church of the Most Venerable Brigadiers, the Library, the Folklore Museum and the Eudoxian Cultural Center.

The tourist traffic of the village also moves around the square, where there are many small shops with souvenirs and folk art items as well as shops. The fountains are also scattered in the village, many of them covered to protect them from the rain. The paved old cobbled streets that lead to the neighborhoods of Milea start from the square. One of them, after crossing the village, turns into a path and reaches as far as Tsagarada.
